Basically self explanitory. This can lower your car up to 3/4 of an inch depending on what cv shafts you have. you basically lower the strut in the knuckle until just before the spring perch contacts the tire. remember that the cv boot can baloon under high speeds, so stay a good 1/2in from it. If you tear one up the are not all that fun to replace. a good place to drop them to is the second hole in the strut locator tab, just drill out that hole and re-install the bolt. Also, you may have to trim your spring perch if you wish to lower the car using this method. It depends on the dia of your tires.

Some people have done it and could be fine for them, but I'd choose to err on the safer side when it comes to the 'ghetto' lowering. :snicker:

other than unsafely lowering the ride height of your vehicle, there is no real benefit. youre still riding on old struts and springs. the amount you can lower the strut is dependant upon the size of tire/wheel you are using. use a smaller tire on a stock wheel, you can lower it more.

what i did do was RAISE the REAR strut in the knuckle for a while after installing the modified Moogs and Tokico struts. it raised the rear 1 inch. my only reason for this was because i was carrying close to (if not more) 1000 lbs of tools in the trunk. ive since emptied my trunk, sans spare tire, jack, tire iron, and oil, relocated the strut to its proper place in the knuckle.

Thank's guy's I think i'll just leave it the way it is and get some lowering springs and hope i get the right look!
Hey! on another note i've finally decided to go with a single exhaust instead of the dual..
I want to get the best flow and that seems to be the way!

I've had this done this on my Gen 3 for the last 4 years. No problems at all. The locater tab isn't going to hold up your vehicle if the pinch bolt fails or loosens. It is an effective way to lower the car.

You can also shove the subframe as far forward as you can. This will increase the caster in a beneficial way too.

Benefit? If you are looking for a cheap and easy way to drop the car 1/2" to 3/4", yes.
