I'm considering a set of springs for my car. On the plus side, it will greatly improve the look of my car. On the negative side, I'm not sure I'll care for the firm ride while driving every day. So the deciding factor is performance. I'm at the point where I am limited at the drag strip by too much wheel spin or wheel hop. I've heard that springs can help this by resisting weight transfer when launching.

So, my questions are, does anyone have before and after info about the springs? How did it effect your quarter mile time and 60' time? What are your impressions on how the car rides, both at the track and in every day driving?

I appreciate the luxury aspects of this car as much as I appreciate the performance of it. I'm a bit worried about how the car will ride with the springs. However, every time I look at the car, it looks more like a circus wagon than a performance car. :):p:bowrofl:

The ride is stiff. I mean stiff. Looks definitely better, handles better. Did I mention the ride is stiff?

I have Megan Racing coilovers. Daily driving on Michigan roads is horrible. The roads are so bad this year I'm contemplating on putting the stock setup back on.

I ran a 12.44 on stock everything except a 3bar, tstat, and drop in filter. Had a best of 60' at 1.77 on the stock RSA'S and suspension. Added coilovers, better tires, and catless DP'S for a 12.40 & a 60' at 1.75. Then got a juicier tune for a 12.34.......

I'm starting to think your car is a "freak". There is no way I could get my 60' time down in the 1.7x range. Unfortunately, it seems like the lighter wheels I put on aren't as helpful as I thought they would be. I'm realizing that going quick and fast in a front wheel drive car is a little more challenging than going quick and fast in a rear wheel drive car. I'm pretty sure I would need at least a meth kit and cat back exhaust to get in the 12.3x range. To go quicker than that, I would need all of those parts and "mine shaft" conditions.

Yes, I do like the way these cars look with those springs, and I'm sure they handle much better. However, with light weight wheels, I seriously doubt I could find the ride quality acceptable.

The real question is. Can you sacrifice ride quality for looks. If you have a pp car it's not much different but it is stiffer. They do soften up after 6 months or so. I like them and love the way they look.

I did new pp struts and shocks with my pp. It was pretty harsh for about 2weeks. After that its great.

Does the ride really get "softer", or do you just become accustomed to the harsh ride? I wouldn't think the ride would change that much, especially since there is less travel in the suspension. If it becomes softer, I would think it would bottom out with passengers in the car. Not to mention, these springs are made to last a long time. Their spring rate shouldn't change noticeably.

The ride is NOT stiff! I have the H&R Springs, but I also have the PP option so the sport shocks help also - ride is excellent and it's my daily driver! Don't get me wrong, you'll notice a difference, but not in a bad way! *You'll want to get an alignment after and you need special bolts for the rear camber! Here's my setup...

Could you post a link or some info on where to get the bolts for the rear camber

Are there any clearance issues with the lowering springs? Anything have to be done for clearance like rolling the fenders?
