Low Windshield Wiper Fluid light

Question: on our instrument panel lights, there is one icon that I beileve to be an indicator for a low winshield wiper fluid level. Is that light supposed to come on if the fluid is too low on our cars? The reason I ask is because I had one time where I ran out of windshield wiper fluid (press down on multi-function switch and got no fluid coming through the nozzles), but the light never came on. So before I go about taking the windshield wiper tank out to see if the switch is defective, I was hoping to find out whether that light should be coming on.

And second question: does the "rear lamp out" come on as well? I had a brakelight go out once but that LED on my instrument panel cluster never came on either.

I'm not sure about the brake light but the low windshield washer light was only on the 1996 SHO. Ford decontented items on the new model year in 1997.....one of these was the low windsheild washer fluid indicator and another was the gear shift light in the instrument panel. I know the 97, 98, and 99's have the washer light indicator in the instrument panel but it does not function. There are a couple other decontented items that can be seen on www.v8sho.com

Thanks for the advice; seems that both the "brake lamp out" and "low washer fluid" lamps were both discontinued from '97 on.

11. The lamp outage and low washer fluid indicators are no longer available.
