Loud popping from psgr side

Pretty much as subject says. Last week projectSHO89 and I did a clutch replacement and installed new blocking rings in my original trans. All went well and drove perfectly till this morning.

I experienced a few pops while during around town before hitting the interstate for my 12 mile commute downtown. I had installed new strut rod bushings, sway bar bushings and hoped they were the cause of the few pops I heard. Unfortunately, they are not! I made the highway commute just fine but when taking off from the first stoplight, the car made constant popping sounds from the psgr side. Mainly under power, no difference for straight line or turning.

Fortunately, my sister lives less than 1/4 mile from where I first experienced this problem. I'm currently waiting on Steve (projectSHO89) to arrive to help diagnose. Just thought I'd hop online to see if anyone might have some suggestions for finding the cause of the popping.

As I mentioned, it's now almost constant when applying power and taking off from a stop. My first thought is cv joint but wasn't aware they can fail this quickly. Any help is appreciated.

Problem solved! Several years ago a mechanic installed a larger sized bolt in the front psgr subframe. In the process of doing the clutch job, Steve found where the mechanic had also tack welded the nut in the frame..... We decided to reuse the existing bolt when reassembling the car even with visible damaged threads. As found today, the bolt didn't hold and the front subframe was loose from the frame. Replaced the stripped bolt and so far so good. Noise is gone.

Hey! It was already dark and snow was blowing into the garage that evening as you recall. Besides, my wife wanted her parking space back.

Oh, I recall the conditions quite well. Start the day in the 40's, rapidly falls to mid 20's. And hey, I did use the term "we" in the above post.
