loud noise in the rear

i had this bad banging noise coming from the rear of my car when i went over railroad tracks or a bad bump, for about a week, then it went away. What the **** was it. My friend said it might of been the sway bar link?

Crawl under there and look. If an end link is broken, it will be obvious.

More than likely it is a loose strut support. You have a clunking sound when you hit bumps. I'll have to check, but I think you just need to tighten up bolts that hold the support bar in place.

the noise disappered. Yeah
