Just like the title says. In addition to my brake line being messed up the car now makes a rather loud BANG sound at times when I turn or accelerate. Its far worse than a subframe clunk and I'm not sure what I should look at... The transmission definitely isn't it, I've already ruled that out. Should I be checking motor mounts and the subframe mounts? Anything else I should be looking for that might cause this??

This doesn't happen all the time, but does happen every time I drive the car for more than a few minutes. I really can't sell it this way unless I let it go for like next to nothing. ****, if I can get it driving like it did 5,000 miles ago I might just keep it...

I would check your mounts. Have you determined if it's coming from the front or rear of the vehicle?

Where is the sound comming from? Front? Rear? Drivers side? Passengers side? Just saying "a loud banging is comming from my car" could mean there's a monkey on the top of your car with a hammer?? Sounds like a CV joint to me though. Good luck

Ill check my mounts. Its definitely coming from the engine bay area, sounds like its more over on the driver's side but who knows...

I'll check the mounts and everything when I really start tearing into it. Its at my parents house now but I'm just going to borrow a car dolley from a friend and tow it back to where I live and then start diagnosing etc...

There is no clicking or anything to make me think CV joint. What is a good way to tell if it is the CV joint? Is it something I can replace myself or do I have to take it somewhere to get that done? Sorry for all the noob questions, this SHO is the first FWD car I've attempted to do much to by myself. Give me a RWD car and I'd be fine but FWD is still new to me.

Best way to tell if it's a CV joint is to turn the wheel and accelerate. If the joint is bad/going bad it will make a clicking/banging noise. I thought that's what you originally said, but I don't know. Good luck

It happens at all different random times. I'm thinking bad motor mount. I'll crawl under it this weekend and figure it out I hope... I'm actually hoping it is a bad mount since that's not TOO bad to change from what I hear.
