little grey fuse like things

Hi all,there are 2 grey fuses one is right at the spout connectors to do the self test codes.the other is sitting or laying right on top of the tranny.the one at the tranny is missing.the ford place sell em for $8 each.but my ? is what are thay or do we need em?

Those jumpers complete the SPOUT circuit; without them your timing is always at 10ºBTDC. Replace it and enjoy all 220 of your horses.

so if ones missing it can make the car spit and spuder say at higher RPM's because thats what its doing.and i v retimed it 4 or 5 times since i rebuilded the engine.thanks alot.
