I was driving through a construction site today on the highway. I was crusing at about 55 and out of nowhere this huge rock is right in front of me. I tihnk OH F**K and heard the smash of it. The car seemed ok after the collision. I got to where I was heading to and surveyed the damage. The front bumper cover seems cracked in a few places, then i looked under it. The cooler thats closest to the front of the car got smashed good, as well as the thing behind it (I tihnk thats the AC condenser). I ithnk my radiator is ok, and nothing is leaking. I want to know what cooler is closest to the front of the car. Any advice is welcomed...

If you hit the rock on the highway and it was there due to the construction you might want to see about the construction group picking up the tab for yor car as it would be their fault.

well I took it for a drive and nothing seems to be leaking. I'll watch it over the next few days....

The next time you drive by the construction site, take down the phone number for the main office and call them. You will just get the runaround if you try and talk to the work crew. They should at least go part way on it.

If you're in a posted construction site, chances are you're out of luck, and should have been going slower. Not that I would have.

If it is a small cooler it may have been the power steering cooler

I have never seen a posted construction site with a 65mph speed limit. :)

Again, no trying to be a ****, just saying work zones are usually marked as such, and serious zones will be marked with a "road construction - pass at your own risk" or similar sign.

In any case, unless you witnessed said rock fall from X vehicle, and got X vehicle's tag number or other identifying markings, you're likely out of luck.

Do you have collision on your vehicle?

yeah I do think I have collision, but I dunno if I want my premiums up right now. I gave my car a spirited drive and it held up fine. I never use my AC so I don't care about the condenser. Nothing is leaking and I might slap on an aftermarket trans cooler.

I'm glad it hit the middle and didn't take out my suspension

lol I checked, I have plenty of trans fluid. It bent the cooler up pretty badly, but it still seems in tact enough to function. My ac condenser is worse....
