Just ordered Potenze RE730s to replace my crappy XGT's

I just ordered some Bridgestone Potenza RE730's this weekend to put on my new rims for the summer. I love the look of these tires and they seem to have good reviews. I am totally disappointed with my Michelin XGT-H4's and cant wait to put these z rated tires on.
I got a decent price for balance, mount, lifetime flat repair etc for $480. That is what it would have cost me if I ordered them from tirerack. I am satisfied, hope they are good.
Is anyone else running them??

I had Bridgestone Potenza RE71s and they were the worst tire I've ever driven on. They tracked every single bump and irregularity in the road. Very loud at speeds of 30-50mph. Cornered very well, though. Very rough ride compared to any other tire I've driven on.

I researched those and was not as impressed with the feedback compared to the RE730. It seems to be a great tire on paper, hopefully it will be great on my car.

The RE730s are an excellent tire for many conditions, but they really kick in dry road raging. I have run them very hard and I am very pleased with their excellent dry and wet traction, even and fairly long tread wear and low noise levels.

Bridgestone replaced the old, noisy, fast wearing RE71 with the superior RE730. I ran a set of RE71s because they were amazingly cheap (sellout). They were gone in little more than 60 seconds and were very noisy doing it. They stuck very well, but their compromises overshadowed their traction. They were way overdue to be replaced.

Bridgestone did a great job with the RE730. This is one of the few tires I will run a second set after the first set wears out. This is the tenth set of tires on my current car and the RE730s have been my overall favorite.

I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't saying that Bridgestone tires weren't great tires by posting my experience with the RE71s. I, too, have heard good things about the RE730s.

Same here. Roasted the tires for 50+ feet one time and when I slapped my 17s on in the spring I noticed that my front left tire had about 1/1000" of tread left. The right tire wasn't much better. Whoops!

At 174 a PIECE I don't want to waste my money on ****** tires

I have the RE730s on a Mustang. Damn good tire for the money. Not the untimate dry stick of the old 71, but they're streetable

Very good in the wet. I've heard complaints from others about tire noise, but I don't notice it.

Before my current Bridgestone RE730s that were preceeded by a set of RE71s, I had a set of Bridgestone S-02s. That was the highest performance tire I have had on the car. They were excellent in all respects: dry traction, wet traction, cornering, braking, even tread wear (30,000 miles) and low noise levels. They were reduced to $125 a tire through Tire Rack in preparation of the release of the S-02 Pole Positions. The only nit I had to pick was that they were quite narrow for the 225/55-16 profile.

Since the S-03 has superceded the S-02, I can only imagine the excellence of its performance envelope. However, I do have a price limit and the RE730s come very close to the performance provided by the S-02s at a price I can live with.

During the Lone Star SHO Club's Fall run last year in the Texas Hill country, I pushed the RE730s harder than I have ever pushed a set of tires on my 1991 SHO. For eight hours. They didn't give an inch of road, didn't cry (squeal) for mercy, didn't show any tread block damage and didn't mind giving a smooth, quiet (not slow) ride home to Dallas.

You won't go wrong with the top of the line S-03 or the more reasonably priced RE730.
