Like I say Gene, I sent you a composite map I'd like you to review for my trip for the engine tomorrow.

Lots of nice twisties and open road near Alex's place.

Very welcome Alex and it was great meeting up with you. Too bad I was strapped for time. With the clutch in Doug's hand, his SHO will be on the road one day earlier. I am glad to have taken the trek out this morning to take care of two SHO owners
You could have met #4 SHO guy, but GR8WYT has a tough work schedule to comply.

Hopefully we will all have more time on the next meet. Grandma was asking how where the cookies? LOL.

How did it all go? I wish I could have got myself out there today. I'm envious..... I'm also on the 12:15pm back to the island tomorrow and need to get the clutch in the morning so it can make its way to Doug. If I don't hear from you guys on the forum this evening, I will try reaching you by phone in the morning. Did anyone get some pictures of today's events?

It was the best of times, it was the worst of time. Wait that has been used.

Saturday was a good day. I was able to dial the car in, and Karen was on her A game driving. She was able to claw her way from mid pack to finish 3rd in class. She was beaten by a top knotch 944 and a 2nd Gen RX7 with a larger engine than she runs. The feel good moments were that she was able to beat all the e30s in her class, and she had the fastest laptime of any car during that race.

Sunday was not so good. She had a good qualifying time in the dry morning, but then it started raining. We were all set to go out on rain tires, but then the weather looked like it was going to break. At the last minute, she made the decision to go out on slicks. Right as we made the change there was a crash which delayed her race. Then another crash, and then the rain started coming back. We had no time to change to rain tires, so she raced on slicks and finished 13th. Slicks in the rain on that track are crazy. I was impressed she was able to finish and never spun.

It was good to see everyone at the track.

Great show Karen! Saturday was really fun to watch; it was apprarent, even from the stands, that the car was on and so was the driver! Sorry to hear the weather wasn't cooperating on Sunday, but I imagine you weren't the only one slippin' and slidin' around out there. I bet it was fun, in a weird sort of way.

I talked to Ivan and he might drop by with either his SHO or his Noble. As much as I like our SHOs, I think I would rather look at his Noble:p

Actually Ivan said he may come by both Saturday and Sunday so he can bring both cars.

For those coming to the track, Saturday is practice and qualifying. Sunday is qualifying in the morning and racing all afternoon.

See you guys there.

Mike

Mike, always a pleasure chatting with you. Also I like your replacment race trailer. Glad to see Karen as well catching up with Kevin. Ivan's Noble was a bonus.
I didn't realize the amount of debris my son picked up playing Hotwheels with Ryan making up the dirt track along side your trailer. When we got home to take his shoes off, a huge cloud of Mission dust poofed out from both of his runners ;)
