Hi,
Tried to remove the sub from the package tray. However, removing the four retaining nuts only seemed loosen it a little. Something else seems to be keeping it up there. From reading the threads, many of you have removed this successfully, apparently. Are there any tricks or hints that I can be made aware of? Thanks.

Just did this job. There are a couple of spring metal clips that snap into the package tray. It may be snagged on those. It also seems to be a tight fit onto the studs. I had to bang and tug on it to pull it down.

I replaced the factory sub with a JL Audio 6.5", which dropped in (after removing the rubber ring that came wrapped around the speaker). It has a nice sound, not a pounding bass but a nice sounding system. It cost me $90 at a local audio store.
