A Ford mechanic, former SHO mechanic and friend of mine offered his 3rd gen for $700.
1997
Black/tan leather interior is perfect body is straight with no scratches
175000 miles on the clock but the former owner was a long-distance salesman
Something's funny in the transaxle. He explained it like it just quit going all of the sudden. No leaks, no traumatic failure etc. So it probably just needs a converter and/or rebuild.

What's your opinion guys?

seeing how you are in the "sho tranny capital of the world" under President Lewis  ...you could let him diagnose it. If it does need a new tranny, figure ~$3000 (includes all the upgrades) iirc. That bumps it up to $3700... which isn't terribly bad, mileage is a bit high though...

Exactly, and there are probably a lot nicer cars with fewer miles for $4000-$4500 you'd have in this one.

And yes, he's talking about Doug Lewis at FPS.
