No, I meant why such a discrepancy between the 2 sensors and why not use the one that's showing less heat soak to possibly make more power? I assume iat2s are the more accurate ones hence why he uses that
IAT2 is the 3 bar on the top of intake manifold, IAT1 is your airbox.

I do know each sensor measures air temp at different points in the system. AJP is using the one most relevant to speed density calculations (after turbos). What I'm trying to inform people of is that the stock tune SCT reader IAT's are not comparable with a custom tune IAT.

Brad uses IAT2 because that is the true air temp going into the motor.

I (and AJP) were not happy with my IATs so I decided to upgrade my upgrade. I replaced the Mishimoto J-Line FMIC with a Treadstone TR1235. The Mishi got me an 11 but just could not repeat it. The Treadstone still uses the Schwartz charge pipe system but requires reducing couplers for the input/output of the IC. The OEM crash bar will need to be removed. I actually bought a replacement crash bar ($65 eBay) and played around modifying it but it wouldn't work so I built my own out of 1.5" OD 1/8 wall DOM. I have no illusions the crash bar will meaningly reduce damage in an accident but I only want it to trip the airbags if I hit something (it's certainly better than no crash bar). The secondary trans cooler needed to be moved back and down but this was easy. It mounted to the core support using two pieces of aluminum bar stock as brackets. I cut an opening in the bumper skin to provide more air flow and I mounted the new crash bar out of the airflow.

My IATs are 30-40 degrees cooler at the end of runs and I get an 11 on nearly every pass now. My PB improved to 11.961 @111.71mph and that's with traction control kicking in.

That is a huge IC - mind stopping by and hooking me up with this setup since you have gone thru all the fidiguring out on your vehicle? There is a beer and slice of pizza for you.... ;)

It looks really good by the way.

LOL and thanks. Go big or go home. I was all set to go with the TR1035 (which is 2 inches shorter) but I had a beer and changed my mind.
