The hissing noise is from the automatic e-brake release on the shifter. The only way I know to get rid of it, is to replace the release valve.

I had the same problem in a 93 I owned. I just plugged the vac lines at the shifter. No more hiss
hi, sorry to side bust here but where exactly are the lines your refering to? i have a 93 atx 3.2L & will soon have the same problem. Also the overdrive on/off button stoped working. is there a possible fix to it that dosent include replacing the PCM? i had the same problem years ago & only by replacing the PCM did I get rid of the problem.

I suggest plugging the line rather than allowing it to hiss, because the hiss means you are pulling unfiltered and unmetered air into the engine.
