Ok everyone, it looks like we have more than enough people to go ahead and put down our money on a set of Indiglo guages. I emailed everyone whose email address I could get but for those of you that either dont read mail on those addresses or whatever, Ill post it here too:
If you are ready to put your cash down on the Indiglos, Heres what you wanna do: Go to www.speedhut.com, click on the sentence on the mid-top right that says "Wheres my car?" After that you will be taken to another page and a very short way down, you will see another highlighted sentence that says "Model Development Program." Then you scroll down to where it has the list of cars that are in the Model Development Program. Click on which guage you want (either Full indiglo or Reverse Indiglo). Full indiglo is a.k.a. "Dial background glows" and Reverse indiglo is a.k.a. "Font Glows." You will then see the page where you can sort of build your own guages while watching a generic template to see kind of what they will look like. There are a number of different colors and fonts you can get for the guages. Towards the bottom of the page is where you fill out a form and put down your money on the guages. You will have to put down 100 bucks on the guages, and once they are done with making the guages, you pay the remaining money. If you dont want a custom logo on your guages or custom graphics, both of which are described elsewhere on the website, it will be another $35.95 (thats a total of 125.95 plus 10 bucks shipping). You can have just about any custom text you want which will be written I think on the Speedometer like "SHO" or "CHEVY SUX" or whatever you guys want. Ok, so everyone, go ahead and put your cash down and hopefully we'll get our guages soon!

I was super ****** that I missed the other opporotunity to get these guages, so you can count me in! I put my order in tonight. Although, I wasn't really able to find any picturs of the "carbon fiber" style. That is what I placed my order for, but I'm not sure if I will like the look of it. Anyone have any pictures of the carbon fiber?

EDIT: Also are the dummy lights (blinkers, CE light, ABS light) in the same pattern at the guages? Or do we just keep the old black ones in there?

Thats fine it will be a few weeks before they get the machine to tool them up and running again or so they told me. They got a new machine and removed the old one and didn't want to waste the time programing it to make the "Unprofitable" models. They need 15 orders to make it worth their while I'm guessing since thats what they set it at.

On a side note where the heck is everyone that was interested. WIth Matt there is still 4 people missing on there for the order to go through.
If you want them get them now cause they are 150 bucks when the Preorder is done, they cut 10% off shipping off 139-13=126+10 shipping 136 bucks now with be 149 after the order is done.

I got one of the inital run of gauges from Speedhut and let me tell you, they are great! One thing: I don't know if they still have the hole cut for the "Low Fuel" icon or not but there is a 1/2" oval cut around where that fuel pump light is on the temp/fuel gauge. I had to remove my gauges (more on that below) and I'm going to put a white label over the fuel light and see how that works. The only drawback of the white gauges is that you see black around that light because the weak amber light won't shine through the gauge face.

When you get your orders, make sure that you have enough double-faced tape to properly mount the gauges! They didn't give me enough and I had to rig it up a little bit with the small ammount of tape they did send. I had to remove it because it was binding on my tach and I had to bring my car in for service. They will send you more tape for free if you ask.

Also, you will probably want to paint the backsides of your needles red or blue or some other color that isn't their stock white. Be CAREFUL when removing them and make sure you remember where they were when you took them off!!

I shouldn't even say how to remove the needles because someone's gonna slice one off but here goes:

1. Move the needles of the fuel and water temp to mid way. Start your car and make sure you know where your idle is.

2. Drive your car and make sure that you know what speed you're going at what gear and what RPM so you can reset your speedo.

3. Get some large wire cutters and put the jaws between the needle and the face of the gauge.

4. DO NOT CUT THE NEEDLE'S SHAFT but gently pry the needle up by slowly squeezing the cutters closed. Your needle should just pop off of its shaft. It's held on with a brass pressure fit collar which is attached to the needle itself and just pushes back on.

5. Remove the black "top" of the needle by cutting away the black melted rivits on the back and pushing the black top off.

6. Carefully remove the white paint from the back and reapply a couple coats of your favorite contrasting color TO THE BACK ONLY. Push the black top back on and put a drop of plastic glue on the back where the black pegs touch the clear.

7. WITH YOUR CAR OFF apply the temp and gas needles to their shafts, turn the engine on and put the tach needle where it was supposed to be at idle and rev the engine to make sure it's at the right spot.

8. (The hard part, I'm not responsible for your death or anything) while driving at the rev's that you made note of before, stick the speedo needle back on its shaft but don't push it all the way. Verify that you have it in the right spot and you should be ok. Bringing a friend with you to watch the road is probably a good idea too.

If any of this sounds too hard to do, I'd suggest you don't do it! The gauge faces can be applied without removing the needles or the gauge cluster from the dash.

Remember, if you screw with your needles, I'm not responsible for broken needles, gauges, wrecked cars or anything else if you do this.. the whole "driving and screwing with gauges" idea is very dangerous but the other stuff is just potentially expensive if you screw up. I have a spare tach if you manage to wreck one.

I'm going to reinstall my gauge faces and do my needles this weekend and I'll report back if anything is different.

Read my post above for detail. I had my gauges in for a month with the white needles and although it's not the best way to read them (white needles on white gauges) it does work if you don't want to screw with your needles. I'm sure if you went to a shop to have them professionally installed they would paint the needles for you, they'd probably tack on an extra half hour for the work.
