Would the CE light be illuminated if so?
Upon some reading at v8sho.com, I am wondering if my secondaries are opening. I cannot hear them. (Of course, I haven't touched the "saxacone". I would imagine the secondaries aren't REAL loud) shrug

You can make them open when the car is in park and running by quickly opening and closing the throttle all the way. They should actuate at least once. If you take the appearance cover off of the front head it is easier to see the actual linkage.

The IMRC won`t throw a code because it`s usually only a broken cable. What happens is when the secondaries aren`t opened much, they get gummed up(the secondary throttle plates get far more "gunk" build up than any other part of the intake track). This of course causes more stress on the IMRC,eventually snapping the cable.

So if your mashing the gas at least a couple times a day, you shouldn't have gummed up secondaries? boink

I don`t know squat about the Gen III,except when it comes to this.I work with Kirk on the Gen III cam welds(just got back from doing 12 in Oklahoma),doing all the intake cleaning.I would be able to tell the people how they drove their cars by the look of the build up in the runners and butterflies. The cars that were driven harder were very clean. The ones that were babied may have looked great overall, but there was a significant higher amount of build up on the runners, surge tank,EGR opening, and throttle plate.I wouldn`t ream on the car every trip out,but just open it up every once and a while.

We ran 2 cans of it thru his beater 92 while we were down there after a plugged fuel filter problem.I know that he does use Berrymans to clean injectors when they are out of the car,so i can at least say it won`t harm them.
