Someone has 8 used coils on eBay right now. They say 4 of them are almost new. Bid is only 9.95 so far.

The seller cancelled that. I actually had the only bid in on those at $9.95 with my high bid of a whopping $15.00, I wasn't going to commit any more funds for some used coils, figured if the guy was actually honest like he said, "the engine didn't have any skips when the coils were being used", then it was at least worth a shot to maybe at least have 4 decent coils to work with and swap around to try to nail down a misfire. Anyway, I guess the guy figured he wasn't making any money off of his used coils, (no reserve btw), so he freakin' cancels the auction and voids the bid. Sucks, but as Paul said, buying used coils is like buying used condoms and expecting them to be good, that's a great analogy, best to buy electronic items new anyway, at least new items will have a warranty.

Sorry, I guess I should have clarified....my plan was to give them to whoever may need them. I got so much valuable info from the folks on this forum that I was going to "give something back", so to speak....
Anyway, I have someone here locally who can use them and is going to pick them up this week...

I didn't put anything on e-bay... what you bid on was someone else's..... my clarification was for my entry on this forum.... I didn't specify when I asked about interest that I was giving them away. (my original statement: "Anyone interested in a set of Motorcraft coils??? I replaced all 8, dealer said #3 was bad. They have 77,000 miles on them....)

Okay, My Bad!!!! We are obviously talking about two different things.
I just hate it how the **** cancelled the auction right at the last minute on a no reserve item, probably just because he didn't like the dollars he was seeing.

Had some contact with the seller of the cancelled auction, he basically admitted to cancelling because he wasn't going to be making any money off of the coils and that he was trying to recoup some funds from the cost of the new coils he had bought by selling the used ones. I told him that was what a "reserve" was for and when you list something for sale in an auction format you are taking a risk that you may make some money or not. Probably a good thing anyway that I didn't get the coils, but it's all about the principle of the thing now. The guy said he didn't have "Taurus" in the listing, so he may have found a loophole that allowed him to be able to pull the plug at the last minute when he saw that he wasn't making any money.

I appologize to JCTaz for the confusion of the posts in this thread, sorry about that dude, I totally misunderstood and just wanted to clarify that.:salute:

Marty, no problem.... if I had been more clear in the first place we would not be having this conversation.
