Well, I just got Roush springs and I am wondering what to do.

Dilema: My SHO's ass end seems to be a bit lower than the front, as do most (seems about and inch). My concern is that when I go on trips or golfing with friends in the SHO, and put the luggage in the back, or or 2-3 sets of clubs and 3 guys, my ass end is really gonna be dragging on the ground with Roush springs in.

Possible Solution: Drop the front 1.5 inches using the springs that are supposed to be for the rear. Leave the stock rear springs where they are. So, the front would be 1.5 lower, and the rear the same.
This may give it a more balanced look, slightly lower in front when trunk is not loaded, and not nearly as low in the ass when trunk is loaded vs ass end with Roush springs and a loaded trunk.

Just a thought, but not even sure if feasable.

they are 2 totally different spring designs, and mixing a lowering spring with a stock spring can produce hazardous handling characteristics. Just install the whole set. I you need to raise the rear of the car, check to see if somoene before you lowered the strut in the knuckle.

That's interesting because they look the same, except two are taller than the other two. I guess I will just install both front and back unless I just put the front in the front and leave the rear stock.

Decisions, decisions.

Thanks for the reply,
Mike

Oops, that didn't come out right, man am I a scatter brain.

I will put both Roush in and deal with the low, low ride look if I have to.

I just wish I could find a place to install the springs for a decent price. Every place has quoted 6 hours of labor for it and at least $500 for everything. I refuse to install them for that kind of cash.

I have decided that i will most likely be taking a trip to Performance Plus in Madison Wisconsin. They charge 300 bucks for the install which includes a toe alingment. I was actually thinking of getting my cams welded there and have decided that I may just do both. They obviously know their stuff there so I would probalbly feel more comfortable going there.

why would they give you a toe alignment? the toe will remain unchanged with the springs in or out, due to the tie rod ends not being moved... You need camber adjustment, and I'd mess with the caster too since the plates will be broken free. +4 at least for the caster, and anything -1 to -.3 is good for camber

LOL, Here is a copy of one of the emails I recieved from perplus regarding the Roush spring istall. They asked me how much a drop there was in the front and rear, I replied with 2 in front, and 1.5 in rear.
Perplus' reply states: (ouote) Keep in mind that a 2" drop will change the suspension geometery enough that we cannot guarantee a straight alignment or tire clearance. Doug will align it the best he can but 2" causes the steering rack to be at a slight angle in relation to the axles instead of straight across.

What do you make of that?

Thanks for the input!!!
