Hey folks. I just bought a CPU for a '93 ATX with a Hypertech. The seller didn't know much about it, so I have a question.

Would you guys install his CPU with the chip or should I just add the chip to my existing CPU already known to be working. Mine is also a '93 ATX.

I haven't received his chip yet to cross check or inspect it yet. Thanks for any input.

Take the chip look at it for a bit and then throw it in the trash. They do nothing for these cars. Sorry.

If you really wanna chip you car you either need a Moates or a Tweecer. If you are just looking for some mild changes to the way your car behaves head over to SHOsource and read up on their LPM's for what you want done.

Get yourself a 95 ATX ECM.
Code D4U1
This will be an improvement over your 93 ATX ECM.

I have an old hyper tech chip that can be programmed, it's a ribbon type. I got it for free when I bought a set of seats.

I think a guy from shosource told me it can be programmed. When I had it in it gave me an 8k redline, and slightly earlier secondary opening.

Maybe they are totally different for an auto? idk

Well i guess, i should been more precise and asked if it was a SHOsource LPM. But it doesnt sound like it. Sell it and save up for a LPM if you have to have one, but that being said the stock tune does very well and the can tunes doesnt do much for these cars unless you are heavily modded.
