I have a 2018 Ruby Red SHO bought new with 12 miles on it. Got some good discounts back in June 2018 and love the car - best I ever had. Now has 74000 on it and I intend to drive it forever (well, I turn 70 in July). Last oil change, guy pointed out some oil leaking on Left Main Gasket, said I'd better look into it. My son said I should check for any warranties from Ford that might still be active. Also suggested I buy an exteneded warranty and wait until (and if) a period of time has to pass before I claim the repair. I came back on here to search through your posts to see if anything pops up about this main gasket leak. Maybe applies to the twin turbo (3.5)? Thanks and glad to be back.

Extended Ford warranties usually require a preinspection before hand. There are discount Ford warranties online and they have inspection sheets floating around. A dealer service shop will have their own. It's usually not a rubber stamp pre-approval process to try and limit exposure to pre existing conditions. However, I would consider getting one for sure. Leaky gasket is no big deal. Expensive part failure would make it worth it.
