Is there a (simple) way to rig up your lights so you can have just the foglights on without the headlights?

Curious,

I was sucessful in doing this mod on my silver 92 , but when I did it on my 93, it didn't work. I'm assuming something is different. Anybody know if Ford used a relay or something? The wires were thiner on my 93 than they were on my 92.

I tried that mod about a year ago and got really ******. My wires weren't the same color as the ones in diagram. I decided to cut them and try different combinations till I got it right. Is all i did was blow fuses and never got the right combination.

SO I resoldered them and heat shrunk them. If anyone knows how hook it up on a 89 please let me know.

89's don't have relays for the fogs, so the shotimes info won't work. I tried that and ended up blowing fuses also, so what I did was connect them to the cigarette lighter.
Just ran a wire from the lighter to the fog light switch wire, now they work without headlights. The warning ding doesn't work with them this way though, so it's easy to forget them on.

i did the mod to my 93 and the wire colors matched up perfectly to the directions by shotimes. Mine come on with my parking lights. At first I had some trouble understanding the directions, so if you need any help, drop me an e-mail.

I connected the positive (power) wires. There is no relay, I just have a wire running from the lighter positive, to the switch positive.
I'm still using the stock fogs (with 100W bulbs though), so everything else is stock wiring.

Like I say, I did it on my 92 without any problems, it just didn't work on my 93. I will try it again, but this time I will use a volt meter and make sure it will work before I start cuting wires again.
