Yep, it's normal. If you do the 'parking light mod' I believe then the fog lights will work along with low/high beam both.

damn, that really doesnt make any sense. If you need the highs on you need more light, so the fogs should be able to work, eventho the stock fogs dont really add any light...lol

anyways, one of my fogs are out, how hard is the bulb to change and where can I get the bulb and how much?

i went to k-mart (lol) and they didnt have it...there arent many automotive stores around here. The fogs are 893's right?

5 Easy steps to lots of light:

1 buy a harness from Competition Limited.
2 install Super White bulbs
3 go out and get some real foglights/driving lights
4 hook the foglights up to their own relay and stock switch
5. re-aim lights. fogs centered on 15 feet in front of bumper, low beams at 50 feet and highs at 100feet

I believe I remember hearing that in some states it is illegal to drive with high beams and fog lights on simultaneously. Why it's illegal, I have no idea.

yep thats the part number. at NAPA it was 10.97 for one. the are pretty easy to change but hard to access. at first i crawled under the bumber and found a 15mm nut, but that adjust the pitch of the light. then i discovered to small tourques head screws right below the fog light but it is still in the assembly. you undo those and you give it a little push from the back where you see the socket. it should push right out. let me kno if this helps

WOW, $10.97 for one at NAPA, that's a no no. Does anyone ever go to WAL-MART they have them for around $10.50 for both, but they come in packages of one for like $4.97. Now mine are for the 89' SHO and 2 gen should be the same price too. The part # is H3-55 and made by GE, now if you have a 2 gen or 3 gen just put in the little computer thing WAL-MART has in the department the year and make and it'll give you a part #. If your gen.1 the part # is stated above and don't get the H3-100 bacause the 100 watt won't fit in because the metal rounding has a piece sticking out, but can be cut off if you really need the 100watt

Fog lights are intended to be used in FOG. They cast their light down low (close to the road) so that the illuminated moisture droplets do not reflect light back to the driver's eyes. High beams, on the other hand, will brightly illuminate the fog droplets and will cause the driver's vision to be obscured greatly.

That is why fog lights and high beams are not supposed to be on at the same time.

Of course, you do need to differentiate between FOG lights and DRIVING lights. Driving lights are intended, usually, to cause the car to be seen instead of actually improving lighting for the driver's benefit.

I got a ticket driving back from Virginia to California in Wisconsin as well for having high beams and drivnig lights on at the same time. I have aftermarket driving lamps on my 94 SHO and I have to admit that they are pretty bright (running a 100 watt (?) bulb too).
