*ahem...mods, edit as you see fit.

Has anyone ever devised a way of hidding your lisence plate for "carshows" or internet pics?

I have a mechanical method of doing just that.

1, Bought a GM style lisence plate holder from the boneyard. Certain models of GMs hide the filler tank under the plate.

2, bought a manual choke kit and discarded the outer sheath.

3, routed some hard brake lines from the trunk to the interior next to the trunk/gas door release

4, had a custom fake plate made.

Voila! no see um real plate.

As you can see, the flip plate is virtually undetectable when fully closed. Use your imagination as to what "other" uses it may have.

Next will be to wire in a solenoid to have it move electrically.

I once saw a cool little device for street rods that had the plate mounted to the bottom of the bumper. It had a vaccume operated pivot so when the car was on the plate would fold down, but when you cut the car off the plate folded up behind the bumper. That was cool!

New to forum and first time SHO owner. Bought a 1994 MTX white 3.0 SHO. Found easiest way to hide license plate on a clean bone stock SHO go to back to the bricks car show in Flint MI.

Was told no way you cant enter that in the car show!!!

Guess I should have put a small block chevy in an S10 would have got in no problem.
