HID conversion kits

Anyone else pondered one of these? I see them selling on eBay for around $400 now for the 9007 kits. I am aware that high beams would be lost with the kit.
Curious as to how easy/difficult the install would be.

Nope, no kidding here.

A HID system is a single filament, low-beam only system. Since the 9007 bulbs use a dual filament bulb for high/low beams, the HID lights only work with the low beam setting.

Why don't you replace your "fog lights" with the 930 HID system from PIAA. I did on my Gen II and it is like night and day.

Hmm. Never thought of that. Let's see...since Gen IIIs don't have factory fog lights, I could go out and buy an aftermarket set...then I could replace THEM with a HID set...sounds like a plan!

I have hids in my car. You have no use for bright lights after you install them. I have people flash me all the time but it does them no good because my lights are so bright it doesnt bother me

I use a medium energy green laser myself, and have it set up to flash at eye level across the driver side of opposing traffic. Does not light up the road a lot, but it is cool (pun intended) and it serves them right for thinking my lights are too bright.

Agreed....having your lights too bright is not only illegal...but extremely dangerous.

I've cited people for leaving their brights on...and I wouldn't hesitate to stop and tell people to either get their lows realigned or changed.

Just my personal opinion...and of course the law too

I have factory ford hids in my car i have been pulled over 3 times and have recieved tickets all three time. I went to court three times and won because they are not an aftermarket accesory, they are a factory item

Are they aligned to factory specs? Have you had them checked lately? Just a suggestion because one officer might be wrong...but three?

What are the laws concerning alignment of your headlights LASTSHO? I would like to realign my headlights so I could actually see. All tauruses seem to have their headlights extremtly low. I've compared this at stoplights, everyone's else is waaay higher than me.

On the HID conversion kit, I still don't get it......You make you regular lights soooo bright they are as bright as highbeams yet you can't go to low beams....so you constantly blind everyone? Interesting

Hid light really dont have a beam to adjust. Its not like regular light that you can drive up against a wall and line up. I tryed doing that with hids when i first got them . it did no good at all the whole wall lit up

Does the whole light assembly get replaced? Because there are screws to lower the light beam built into the OEM assembly. If you're constantly getting flashed...time to move 'em down.

Lights have to be property aligned as to not interfere with other drivers. Simple as that.

Imagine if everyone drove around with their brights on...how dangerous would that be. I've come close to parking it in the ditch on some passes if its a SUV or taller vehicle and they leave their brights on.

Dangerous as ****...if you ask me. I've cited for this numerous times.

One more thing on light alignment. Don't assume that its correct even brand new from the factory. There was a 2 year run of mid 90's Ford Ranger pickups that were horribly misaligned from the factory. I stopped at a minimum 50 Rangers in a 2 year period and told them to get their headlights realigned...many of those people even remarked that they always got flashed...even while on lows...2 people also came back to me later and reported that after the headlight alignment that it had been off...from the factory.
