Let’s pretend the sheer strength/power rating of these clutches is comparable to bolt strength

8.8 bolts let’s call OEM.
10.9 bolts let’s call Raybestos
12.9 bolts let’s say is Helix.

I would expect Helix to handle the most power for the longest time.

When using stronger materials you should expect to get reliable performance and longevity. If you got 600awhp, you don’t want clutches rated to 650 (crank). You’d want something “overrated” so that it can live happy for an extended period of time at your power level. Like the block being rated to 1000hp, I would only start worrying about it after exceeding 900 crank. I think it’s best to over do it. I’d like to see the block rated at 1200hp to run it at 1000.

Yes, I’m not worried about the clutches. They will definitely not fail. Another weak link in the drivetrain is going to show up at higher HP levels that wasn’t an issue before.

The clutches are complete and have been paid in full. IMG 9637IMG 9638IMG 9639
Two sets to test. @Jordan_R will also be testing a set. With their (Value Added Tax) and currency conversion this came to $4,823.46 USD. Split in half between Jordan and I. Pricey even with a discount.

Currently in US Customs headed back. IMG 9690IMG 9694IMG 9691IMG 9692IMG 9693

I don’t know. Unlike in the past where a company required a group buy or group interest, Helix did not require a specific amount of ppl to make deposits or promise to buy. They were happy to work with just one person. Aside from paying to ship them parts for R&D out of my own pocket. I wasn’t required to pay any additional amount throughout the process until they were completed. The initial estimate was around $2,500 usd for one set. But now after 35% off it’s just under $2,500. So the price has gone up quite a bit.

Once we get some data with our results, I can ask Helix if they would be willing to offer these clutches in a group buy setting. If they are willing to do such a thing, I would be surprised if it’s offered at less than what I payed at 35% off. Never hurts to ask. I’d personally like to see something like this at a much lower rate. So hopefully in the near future we can do a group buy at an exceptional price per set.
