So my heater core decided to take a dump on me last week. Just in time for the cold weather.

I currently have it bypassed, but I need it to be "Hooked up" for an upcoming inspection.

Is there an issue if I plug the inlet and outlet of the core and hook up the hoses as normal?

I would be dead heading the inlet hose to from the engine to the core.

Will it blow the hose?

The water pump is a centrifugal pump, so you can dead head it on that circuit.
A positive displacement pump (gear pump) does not like to be dead headed.

its not like that is the only place the water can flow, so it should not be a problem to block off the heater core as you suggest.
