H pipe instead of X pipe

I have read a bunch of threads talking about exhaust and whats good whats not good. I have read some issues with X pipes for our SHO's but has anyone tried a H pipe? I had a vette and I used a H pipe instead of a X pipe and it made it sound like an 60's muscle car. I understand our car does not have the engine that a vette does but would it be any better and would it make it sound better/deeper? Just a thought please give me some input. By the way my exhaust is one of the only thing on my car that is still stock. Thanks
