2015 Ford Taurus SHO, how does one ****/grease the automatic raising/declining steering column when you start the car or turn it off, it makes a noise like it needs lubed since it hasn't been lubed in 8 years. Anyone know if it is accessible or how to do this????

SO - I looked up on ALLData the process of getting to the motor and removal of parts.

First - remove the "Knee" panel below the wheel - there are 2 screws - and then pinch clips so pull toward seat.

Then there are 3 screws to remove from under the column.

Then remove the top piece - pull up

Lastly - look at the parts and use I would guess a silicone based lubricant and lubricate the areas of movement.

Good luck - no real procedure called out - its a DIY kind of experience.

Thank you oh so very much kryptto. This helps immensely. I forgot about ALLDATA. I used to use this back in the day. I will use this for sure. You are the man.

I would assume it would lose its telescopic function if it is stripped right?? Like it won’t go up and down when going into accessory mode or staying the car/turning it off??
