Gen I Trunk Lid Springs

Recently my trunk springs decided to pop out of place. Thankfully not while the lid was up! I would like to see about reinstalling them but don't remember exactly how they mount to the trunk frame. I know how they fit into the holes in the trunk hinge, just not sure how they are placed into the frame. If anyone could post some pics, I'm sure that would help me out tremendously! I'm getting tired of having to hold the lid open while trying to get things in and out of the trunk! Thanks in advance.

BTT - slightly OT, but I have the opposite problem. The lid stays open just fine, but the release handle in the car wont pop the trunk open. I think I put to much junk in the trunk and I may have banged something out of line.
