I got a set of Gen 3 wheels with worn 225/60/r16 Bridgestone Potenza RE950s from the local Pick N Pull for $60 the other day. Here's a few pictures I took real quick of the right front. I'll post more once I get the front end back together & put all 4 on.

I had 205/65/R15s on it. SLO wheels and tires.

I'm pretty sure I'm putting 225/55s on it next.

Are the Gen III wheels wider than slicers? The old farts on the V6 list keep saying that 215 is what you should use on slicers for the best handling, but I don't remember if they're the same dimensions. Though, 225s looks much cooler.

Slicers are 6" wide, gen3 wheels are all 6.5". I run 225/50s on my slicer cars. But I don't track them anyways, it's like driving on hot butter compared to a nice set of wide 17s.

I run those same wheels on my '93, no centercaps, they look good - I just need to do struts and springs to fix my wheel gaps. :thumb:

The clearcoat on my wheels started peeling at least a year ago, I'm going to gunmetal them one of these lazy days.

How do you take the centercaps off? It didn't seem like these come off. I'm gonna repaint these too, I'm just not sure what color yet.

They just pop out like any other center cap. I tend to get a better grip on lug nuts with the center caps off too FWIW.

Slicers on a gen 3 and gen 3 wheels on a gen 2. You're too backwards.

Like I said, I swap the good set of tires around come inspection time... the gen 3 was inspected and passed, and I've been meaning to swap back since the SHO should've been inspected in January but it hasn't been driven and I've been lazy.... I needed to change that inspection to a warmer month anyway so I can comfortably fix the inevitable failure issues

I do like the gen 3 no centercap wheel on the gen 2 though... I just need better lookin tires and better wheel gap to finish the look :thumb:

Do it Jascar.

I actually didn't notice they were centercaps until I looked at my receipt & saw that they charged me for them.

Any pictures from farther away? I like to see a car+wheels as a whole. I must say, they look good on a silver car, maybe leave the centercaps in :thumb:

Yea, I gotta clean the back wheels and then I'll take some more pictures. At the time I still had the steelies on the back, & I didn't think anyone was interested in those lol Here's full picture though:

More Pics

I got some BF Goodrich G-Force Super Sports a couple days ago. I really like them. They seem to match the sleeper look of the car very well.
