I have 4 black gen 2 front seats and trying to make 1 good pair.

The passenger seats are what I am making the pair out of. I want to take a driver seat base frame and mount it to a passenger seat that is without a frame at the moment.

A couple of questions,
Has anyone done this? If so, what was the best way to go about it?

And... Is this under pressure if I were to take it apart do I need to be aware that this thing (in the pic) can have flying projectile?

yeah, you cannot successfully swap the actual seat base - you just need to pull off the seat covers, and then cut a new hole for the controls.

be aware that some of the leather seats (bottom seat covers) have vinyl side panels, and some have cloth side panels, so you will want to make sure you put one on the driver's side that has the vinyl panel so it looks more like the original setup.

Moving the seat to the full upright position will put that spring in the reset position, rendering it at it's safest position for removal.

That said...

It's a very heavy spring under a great deal of tension, and has the very real potential to break your hand if it lets loose.

Best of luck!
