Gauging interest in Griffin radiator group buy.

You guys want more quality mods for the SHO? Here's another one for you. thumb

A group buy can be arranged for an all alumnum Griffin rdaiator for the SHO. MTX and ATX are included. The prototype has been used for over a year now. It has stock location fit and the stock fit for the overflow tank.

The gentleman who has brought this to my attention (Mike Kelly) is crew chief for a Rolex road racing team. In racing be it drags, road races or whatever, you see Griffin and Thermodyne radiators & coolers period.

These radiators are not cheap by a long shot, but you get what you pay for with these. The original cost to Mike was $650.00. Mike was kind enough to talk with the people at Griffin and they came up with a special price that we can take advantage of if a group buy is initiated. He and I both thought that some of you heavy racers or those in very hot climates might want to take advantage of this. If the quantity is met in the order, the original price is cut in half.

Here are the prices that Mike got from Griffin:

Five units is the minium buy period.

Qty--10 plus w/out coolers --- $306.76

Qty--10 plus--with coolers --- $325.74

count me in for one for my 93 MTX, for $306.00
Very reasonable for race quality, no plastic tanks, increased cooling capacity, longer lasting, and proper fit. Others I have seen that have increased cooling with 2 or 3 rows have clearance problems and still have those plastic tanks.

the coolers are for the atx's cars. the coolers are build in the tanks.

I hope there is no rush here. I am certainly interested but I'd like to make a dent in paying for all the SHO parts I've been buying over the last several months.

Is it the same depth? The space there is cramped already. I think the better cooling capacity would help if/when an intercooler needs to be mounted up front. How/where is the cooler placed? For quaifed vehicles this could be a plus if it doesn't interfere with other planned engine area piping.

Is there a greater cooling capacity than stock or is it the same using less total surface area?

I'm interested. Do you know the model #'s. Summit has Griffin radiators that seem to be cheaper.
But they only have them listed by size and Ford/
Chevy. Not sure how long my re-crimping will last down here. And $325 is worth the security of knowing.

I spoke with Mike today on the phone. For those of you who would like to see the radiator before you say for sure if you want one, he will be at Watkins Glen on August 6 - 8th. To be leaving there on the 9th.

While he wouldn't have a lot of time to spend with anyone who would show up, he said that you would be more than welcome to the keys so you can see and drive his car with the "prototype" unit.

If anyone is seriously interested, please get in touch with me or post here and I'll make sure that Mike gets the info. He also noted that tickets for the event aren't expensive, but that he can get tickets for those who are serious about coming out.

hmmmm... I did a thorough flush with my 60k. My temp gauge doesn't ever get up to N, but I do find it getting up to the O in normal if I'm sitting still or the temperature is over 90 degrees. I know the gauge is crappy but I haven't had the money to install quality gauges. When is the cutoff date for this group buy? I can't commit myself until the end of next week, but I'm definately interested as long as shoshop has nothing to do with it.

Hayden, SS has nothing to do with this product. It's not an official group buy yet, it's still pending interest.

While I think we have enough interested parties to make the 5 minimum buy, I'd like to see a few more in order to get you guys the better pricing. We'll give it until after the convention before it goes to an official buy so those who attending will have a chance to settle in and see this info.

I'm interested in one for an ATX. I would also need to see a picture or the rad cap/fill location since with my Supercharger this has to be modified on a stock Rad. Also, how much additional cooling capacity does this unit provide.
