Gas Mileage

I was curious as to what type of gas mileage everyone is getting with their V8 SHO's. My wife drives ours to work everyday. It's all in town and probably no more than 15 miles total a day. The gas mileage is averaging out to about 16 mpg, but has been as low as 14 mpg. I typically drive the car nights and weekends or occasionally to work (60 miles) and it seems to be performing just fine. Seems like it gets around 23 mpg for highway driving.

I know the performance of this car and I'm not really concerned about gas mileage just more so to make sure it is performing like it should.

It sounds at the low end of the range, but certainly in it. Mine gets its milage in kilometers, but converted to miles I get around 20 in mixed driving and about 26 on the highway. Have never done an entire tanke of city driving (thankfully), so cannot report on that.

Mixed driving I get about 20 highway I average 24.. thats at 80 mph on the average and passing ppl

Highway driving for me is in the 75-80 mph region, with bursts up to the 90-100 zone for passes. Like you I pass a fair amount. Our numbers are not different enough to really tell anything. Yesterday I had a 600 km (a little under 400 miles) highway trip, but had to keep the speed down because of fog and drizzle for the entire period. From the time involved, my average speed was only about 65 mph. I filled up before I left and have not yet refilled, so I do not have an exact number, but just from knowing the gauge, I will have gotten very good milage. The lower average speed because of conditions will doubtless be the cause. I would guess it will come out around 28 mpg. If I get a chance to get out later today, I will fill up and check. There is no doubt that steady speeds, and of course slightly lower ones, produce the best milage.

I got 24 averaging 85-90 over back roads obviously slowing for cars and 90 deg turns for about 120 miles. Dont ask I was in hurry .........

I surprisingly got right at 27mpg on the highway coming back from Dallas last week.
I was running 75+ with occasional bursts.
The Bel-980 helped me along.

How is the Bel? Is it pretty accurate?

I get on the h-way anywhere from 23-25 mpg at anywhere from 70 -85 mph

I drive 24 miles one way to work everyday, averaging 23mpg at 75mph. In the city throught it drops well below the rated specs
