Having been an owner of my ATX for almost 80k I have dropped my tranny pan on several occasions.... The crappy cork gaskets that Ford and almost all other filter kits come with are almost impossible to seal without leaking. So, I searched found out and tried a fel-pro gasket made out of rubber for our tranny pan, that works great!

The part number is: TOS18680

This is a solid rubber gasket that will seal so much better than the cork....so, thought I would make everybody else aware of it.

So, far I have only been able to order it through www.autozone.com - the stores won't carry it only the online store...

:burnout:

Pretty sure RockAuto carries them too, as we ordered a bunch from them like 3 years ago as they were something like $3/each and we had been doing a lot of V6 ATX tranny filters at the time. Definitely an improvement.

Your right, I just searched Rockauto....with the p/n. $5.95....half of what I paid at autozone. Oh well, I will buy from them next time, I am satisfied that I have a leak-free gasket.

Personally, the rubber gasket may work well, but another good one is in the ATP filter kits. It is a black compostite type gasket. I have not had these leak on me either.
