Functionallity of SHO Spoiler?

I remember someone was asking here about the functionality of our spoilers. There was also mention of it on the v8sho.com list too but no one seemed to remember where those statements came from. Well . . . It's from a '99 issue of Car & Driver. Yup...and the guy came to the conclusion that the Gen 3 "spoiler" was one of the better functioning ones out there.

It may not look it...but it works.

Yeah, I remember at the Detroit convention in '95, the execs. from Ford explained that the wing was wacky looking because it was built mostly for function, less for looks. Which is pretty apparent.

I love the spoiler. A little known fact is that if we could achieve 473MPH the SHO would be capable of running upside down (on the ceiling) due to the down force...just like Indy cars.
