Fuel Pressure Question. Help Quick Please.

Well I checked the pressure at the fuel rail schrader valve and it is at zero with the switch on and the pump grounded out to run continuously.
What are the possiblities of the pressure regulator being bad? How do you remove the strange fuel line coupling just behind the rear passenger side intake runner. I changed the filter..that wasn`t the problem. Guess I`ll disconnect the pumop discharge at the filter and see if running the pump causes any flow rate.
Just tryin` to eliminate pulling the pump if it could be the pressure regulator.
Pulled pump discharge and get 2.5 gallons in 3 minutes.

The connector is a Ford springlock connector. The tool is the same as used on Ford's air conditioner connections.

Can you actually hear the fuel pump running to be sure it's on? If not, have you checked the inertial shut-off switch in the trunk?

A reading of zero when the pump is actually confirmed to be running is more likely than not an error in testing. A quick depression of the schraeder valve (wear eye protection) will tell you whether the system is pressurized of not.

The regulator actually acts like a dam on a river. It is on the outlet on the fuel rail and makes sure that a certain pressure is maintained in the rail. There is a damper on the inlet side of the rail that serves to dampen the pulses from the pumps action.

For reference, the front connector is the inlet and the rear line is the outlet.
