hey guys

I am looking around for some gaskets so I can replace the knock sensor on the 91 and I read somewhere that the SHO's injectors can use the gaskets off a 5.0L.

Is this true? it will make getting the gaskets easier in a pinch

Thanks

I cross referenced the numbers on the autozone website, and they came up as follows:

SHO: ES70600
5.0L: ES70599

These numbers are very close, and lead me to believe that they might be the same parts; one with 6 the other with 8. Seems logical to me.

Thanks

There are sites like napa & rock auto that list these "o"ring kits for our cars. ********. they are for taurus pushrod engines. I bielieve these "o"rings are truly unavailiable. However they can be purchased from ford on a complete injector for aprox. $30 ea. it is only crictical to plug an air leak and if most inj. to head seal is there a bit of high grade silicone will insure there is no air sucking. the fuel rail gasket will be simple to match. 6 new injectors for less than $200 form FORD ain't a bad deal.

There are O-rings on the injector to fuel rail mating surface and seals on the injector to head interface. Which do you want? The seals at the heads are more likely to age and leak. These ahve a square cross section and are quite thick compared to a normal O-ring.

I don't buy it - you show me a V6 SHO fuel injector for $30 from Ford. Last I saw, they're about $140 EACH, which is why SHO Shop's ~$160 for a set of cleaned & balanced (w/ o-rings) was always just a good deal.

If they we're $30 each, I'd go out & buy a bunch of sets of them now, and offer a Super 60k package with them.

Teg,

The easiest way to go about it is to take your injectors to a carb/ injector repair place. All the seals and o-rings for my SHO only cost something like 4.00. They almost were going to give them to me, then I asked what it would cost to clean, rebuild and flow test them. They said 16.00 apiece and it included everything. Cheapest way to go.

I had them do two sets so I'd have some for the next project.
