FSTB For GENIII

This past weekend installed the FSTB I received from Bob {[email protected]}
Installation was 1/2 hour tops, and that was due to my supervisor Mr Nimz's thumbs_u attention to tiny detail.
For those of you on the V8 List you know where I park, mechanically handicapped zone. But trust me, Even I could do this.
All the parts fit cleanly, alignment of the bar was a no brainer and all connections were right where they were supposed to be.
Here's the sweet part. IMPROVED HANDLING!!!!This car now tracks like a magnet on iron!! Your steering wheel habits will have to quickly adapat to the new sensation. It just sticks to where you point it with authority!!
For the money, this is one of the most Cost Effective mods you can perform to improve GREATLY the suspension/handling of the car.
IMHO!!
Get a hold of Bob.

Well, as previously stated, There is a marked improvement in my cars handling. I can't attribute that to Pauls VAK now can I????
Also, as previously stated, most bang for the buck when it comes to GENIII suspension mod.
Other than that, I have no opinion

I think Bob has showed that your price was too high. I think Bob's doing good business with only word of mouth advertising.

It's good to hear Bob's bar actually fits. Amazing, finally a SHO vendor that has good prices and products that work.

I think it's great. There are lots of V8 people ready to buy parts nowadays. (sarcasm)

Let's just say I don't plan on updating the V8 Guidelog anytime soon, there simply isn't enough interest shown from buyers. Also, "Bob's" Front Strut Tower Brace looks "amazingly" a lot like our old design. Coincidence? At this point, I really don't care. Our parts are being copied day after day, there's even a post on the forum from someone wanting to copy shoforum stickers. Good luck, you'll need it.

Anyway, I've had enough of the V8-related bashing - I'll be in the V6 section from now on.

That was bashing? Tom, I am pretty sensitive to the flame issue and try to toss water on all the time, as you probably have noticed, but that was not bashing. When Kirk bashes, it is rather obvious. You have to be able to have some give and take in a conversation, or there is no conversation.

Yes,Tom it does look amazingly like yours. I guess you don't remember the telephone conversation we had in November of 2002. I had asked if you were still making these, as I did not want to infringe upon anything that you were doing. You said you were not planning to make any more, and wished me luck selling them. I even told you I had one of your orignals in my possesion that I was using as a model, and asked you if there was any patent pending or any other legal or ethical issues you would have with me making them. Your answer on all counts was no. I do not believe in bashing another vendor, it's not my style and not the way I want to get business.
That said, here's what my redesign accomplished, with the help of others. ( You know who you are).

-The bars fit the SHO's and SLO's. Yours hit the EGR on a lot of cars. In fact, the paint was rubbed off in the area of the EGR on the sample I was given.

-Mine is adjustable for lowered vehicles. Both the plates and the bar. Little extras like these go a long way.

So I guess you're right, it is a "copy". Kinda like the Xerox at work makes my kids' crayon drawings look like a Van Gogh.

As for needing "luck", I'm all set. We as a community all share ideas and come up with economical solutions to increase the performance of our vehicles. Most of us are even trained professionals in the fabricating/machining trade.

My main message, investigate before you simply say someone is "copying" your design. The only thing that is copied from yours is the outline of the strut plates.

Well if you had better customer service and products that worked maybe you'd sell some. I think the SHO Shop took a big hit because of the UDPs that didn't fit. No wonder nobody wants to buy anything from you.

Let it be clearly stated that I had/nor wish that any flame be started based on what I posted.
The post that I made is simply IMHO.
I am not a techinically proficient as many on this and other sites I visit are. However, I have the ability to notice/see tactile changes in the performance of my GENIII.
I don't know either Bob or Tom personally. I know that based on simple Math, Bob had a better deal. I also know that I trust the judgement of Paul without question. C'mon he simply has the fastest N/A SHO around. After we looked at my bar, and the bar supplied by Tom, there were apparent differences. I couldn't tell you if they were good or bad if you had a 457 to my head. However, Paul noticed certain minor details, that to him were important. If they are important to him, they are important to me. Simple as that. Tom, if you have issues, you need to deal with them from a pure marketing point of view. Bob, you seem to have a good product. Simple as that. No flame. I might add however, I did not need to blow any dust off the bar provided by Bob. (joke only) Let's stop pickin fly sh&& outta pepper. If Tom feels the markent isn't there for his product then it's not there. Evidently there is for Bob's. Hence the term Free Market Society.
Other than that I have no opinion.
