Front license plate bracket?

My local dealer says the plate bracket is discontinued? I am trying to find one for my fathers car that got hit in front. I am looking for one please call if you have one to sell 309.335.4033 -Dave

Lic plate bracket

My dealer told me he can get one for my 98 SHO for $65!! Finding it difficult to get something reasonable.

so, what about magnets? glue some magnets (big ones probably, but they are out there) to the back side of the bumper, glue some magnets to the plate bracket, and just magnet the front plate on when you want it, and toss it in the trunk when you don't!

never seen it done on a Taurus, but i have seen it done on other cars. neat way to make it look official without drilling holes in the bumper.

I have thought about that. I dont want hassled from the base every time i pull on...

There may not be any way around it.

I had to break down and get the local Ford dealer here in Colorado Springs to do it...the SP's on Peterson AFB told me get it done or they'd write me up. Cost me about $60-75...I think the bracket was $45 and the labor was $20, something like that. But at least base security doesn't hassle me anymore...

Having a plate sit on your dash is illegal. It also becomes a massive blade in the event of a collision.

Put my front plate back on today. Just to be safe. For six months I've been chancing it. I really dislike front plate but at least this one is kinda cool.
