Is it "Normal" to feel the tranny bring itself back to first gear while coming to a stop? What I mean is in other automatic I don't feel it shifting to first when I come to a stop. In mine I actually feel it like a very small thump (Sometimes). It was rebuilt about 9,000 miles ago. It shifts perfect though, without hesitation...

A worn mount would cause it. Since our cars have a IMHO low stall speed, it just magnifies the event. If it really annoys you, you can always replace the front, rear, and trans mounts as they really aren't that hard to do. Expect to pay several hundred in parts though....

Good point! ;)
I would open the hood and put it in R for race, I mean reverse and step on the brake and then the go pedal a little and see if you have excessive movment of the engine. Do the same in D for drag, I mean drive. :thumb:

Mine did it heavily before it was rebuilt. Now, if I pay attention I can notice it. I am mostly used to it and it is very minimal.

I can feel mine do this about 75% of the time too. Sometime's it's hard enough to kinda worry me and other time's it's smooth a silk. I replaced my front motor mount (tranny shop said it was toast) and it helped but didn't cure it. My engine dosent seem to move around that much in the bay, but maybe I have to replace the other two mounts, too...
