Fixing a broken rear defroster grid?

Anyone on here tried this. I hear you buy two chemicals, one is a metal type and the other is a clear coating to go on top. Then lay two pieces of tape on each side of the grid where the damage is. The conductive stuff goes on first, then the clear over it, then remove the tape.

Sound good? anything else I should keep in mind?

Not sure that's the exact kit I've seen but if that's how the instructions read then that's it. You just need to complete the electrical circuit.
