Thinking of doign a 3.2 swap. I was wondering what pieces I will need frma 3.2 to do the 3.2 swap using my 3.0L block. If im nto mistaken the 3.0L block is the same as the 3.2 becuides the displacement. Only things that are different are the wrist pins and oil pump. Are there any other parts that I will need such as the 3.2L rods or somethign that was stronger in the 3.2L then the 3.0? I have no problem buyign stronger aftermarket rods if they make them. Also can The 3.0L wrist pins be used with the 3.2L rods and pistons?

Are you planning to just bore out your 3.0? That's only possible on the later 3.0 blocks, and finding a 3.2 block with the internals is going to be a lot easier, save a lot of effort, and may have a much better result.

I have a 93 3.0 in my 93 mtx and I have a 94 3.2L in my shed but I was gogin to bore the 3.0 out to jsut get a nice new bore on it. I am sellgin all the parts off the 3.2L because I dont knwo when im doign the swap. So all I want to do is keep everythign i would need thats bigger and better for a 3.2L swap that i can do using my 3.0L block.

remember that boring the 3.0 block makes it a little weaker. check the bore on the 3.2 first would be the smarter thing to do.. if there still is a cross bore like looks like a bunch of x's over lapping then the walls are perfectly fine and it would be best to use the 3.2 instead of the 3.0.
from going from 3.0 to 3.2 nothing besides the block and pistons need to be changed.. it hasent been proven that the 3.2 oil pump flows more but its a guess, id agree it probley flows better.
when using the oil pump you need to cut the 3.0 oil pump (a chunk off) so that the timing cover fits with no gaps.
just dremel tool it.
i could probley use some 3.2 parts off the 94 car. mainly the front brakes lol.
give out a little more info on the car like interior color and all.
good luck selling the atx and all... i got a perfectly good one no one wants

My undertanding, FWIW, is that the rotating assembly in the SHO motor is balanced as a unit. In other words, mixing up rods, pistons, cranks, etc., can result in loss of balance. Maintaining the parts together that go together is the best way to maintain the balance, so swapping the crank, rods, and pistons from the 3.2 (or just keeping the 3.2 block and internals together) would preserve the factory balance.

That being said, people put aftermarket pistons in these all the time without too much trouble.

Im for sure going to be usign aftermarket pistons and I would be doign it the right way (having it balenced) all I want to really know is can I buy aftermarket rods to use or a re the stock ones the best I can get. I was thinkign maybe lighter and stronger or maybe just stronger or stock stiffness but lighter. Also can the 3.0L wrist pins be used with the 3.2L pistons?
