I was wondering where I could purchase heavier front and rear anti sway bars and strut braces for a '99 SHO. Anyone have any good used ones for sale?

Thanks

Chris

Typically, most people use either the 24mm front and 26mm rear from a Gen1. Optionally, use a 22mm front and 26mm rear. The 22mm fronts came on various Gen 2s. The 22/26 combo will give the car more neutral handling. If anything, it will make it want to oversteer slightly. Check the classifieds here for cars being parted out.

Also, a 24mm front combined with an aftermarket 29mm(SHOShop, no longer availible new) or 28mm(FPS?) rear gives the same effect.

Anonda motorsports, Midwest SHO, SHO Shop, and possibly others sell strut tower braces.

24/26 seems to be the most favorable combination. Do a quick search on www.v8sho.com for swaybars and there is a chart comparing all the effects of the different combinations and stiffness of each compared to stock. The 26mm rear is something like 350% stiffer than stock.

I personally have a 24/26 combo with a FSTB and disabled SARC. That combo makes the car absolutly beautiful to drive around twisties (for not a lot of $$).... *sigh...now if only it had come with a 5-speed manual and a Quaife*

hey,

Thanks so much for the replies so far. Also, what exactly is a SARC?

Semi-Active Ride Control. Gen3 SHOs (excluding 99s) came with struts that react to road conditions and driving conditions. They stiffen under acceleration and braking and during cornering, then soften up over uneven road surfaces.

Got them in stock...along with bushings and just about anything else you might need.

FWIW, to get the Gen I/II bars CORRECTLY in the Gen III cars, the front bars must be modified to fit. Incorrectly installing these bars could result in un-wanted noise and broken swaybar end links.

Drop us a line.

Sorry if I"m taking away some profit for you Doug...but for everyone else..."modified" means buying some split-collars to put on the insides of the bushing brackets on the bar.

Phew, I was scared for a second there. Thank you for clarifying that.
