:hail:Hey guys I have a 95 MTX, my rear passenger side strut is blown. I was wandering if the struts are SHO specific or if they interchange with any other vehicles, as I am trying to find a used one. I cant really afford a new one right now, also I was told you never replace just one to replace both of them, is that true or would one be ok. Thanks for your help.:thankyou:

if you are that hard up, you can find a regular SLO strut from the same vintage car.

if you do that, you should definitely replace the pair.

while you are doing all that work, I recommend putting in new struts and strut mounts - you should be able to get all that for less than $150.

usually its the upper mount that goes bad resulting in a lot of rattling & clunking, not the strut. If so just a mount is cheap but the labor is involved so its better to just replace everything while your in there if possible! IMO an air impact is required to properly toque the strut mount or the mount will fail early.
