Is there a particular reason you went in the carpeted area over having it in the side of the plastic?

First off, thank you. Secondly, if school ever gives me the opportunity i would be glad to make one after i make mine. I tell you what it will be a lot easier. Also i put one there because it seemed like a good place at the time. in retrospect I would have rather put one inside the center console like my buddies mustang. I like it there though cause i can plug my phone into it and then place the phone undrer the radio. Or if i get daring i can tap into it and hard wire the charger to it and have the charger come out when i need it.

For instance on the passenger side i have my AUX input cable tucked inside whenever my buddy gets in with his ipod i just pull open the door and get the cable out. So in short, it is hidden yet still convenient  ...yeah that makes sense

I ported the rear deck to get the sound through better.

MilTown, good memory, I did trade it out for the GT. I miss my SHO at times but I sure do love the Stang too. Done a bunch of upgrades and recently dynoed and put down 273 HP and 314 ft/lb of tq.

BTW, keep in mind if you have a detchable face that you can use a section of multi-conductor wire and solder it to the face plate and the actual head unit connector. I had considered doing that and fabricating some kind of bow to mount on the dash to hold the face plate and putting the "brain" part with the actual CD player into the console.

I had the radio in the center console for a while too but had problems with skipping. I higher quality deck would not have that problem as bad. I also had a 5" screen down there in front of the shifter for a while as well.
