Street Nights starts next week (Friday March 22) so there will not be any events getting in our way to stop us from making the rounds and racing MANY more times. So I encourage everyone to go that can because we'll get our money's worth this time.
I've dropped about 150 lbs. out of my car (including spare and jack and lots of books and stuff) and I had to take the air filter out of my car because it was wet! I put ***** hose in place of it for the time being, but I'm going to put something down in the wheel well to block moisture from getting in there so I don't get water in the engine now in case it rains...then I should be okay till I get a K&N, or get my K&N conical hooked up somehow. (The K&N I have is too small to hook right up, so I have to figure out some way to get it to hook up) Anyway, this amounts to a much more responsive car...I'm happy.
I kept up SOOOOO much better with this guy with a fairly well modded Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (15psi, no cats, 3 inch down pipe, 3 inch exhaust, mufflers, ect ect)...he pulls GREAT times in the 1/8th and 1/4mile, and we raced on the freeway last night and he started first and pulled on me until I hit the top of my RPM band, then I matched his speed and hung with him. I was VERY surprized. When I was stock, that guy hammered me pretty bad. He pulled away from me decently. I had someone in the car with me and the car totaly weighted down, so this time I was about 300 lbs lighter, but still...I did MUCH better this time. I was happy.
So we'll see what this all translates to on the track. Today I'm cleaning out my intake.
COME TO ENNIS GUYS!!!!! Later! shoot
