Ok here's what i have going on:
Swapped the Engine in my 1999 SHO (FYI only has 90,000miles). The previous engine had the typical cam slip on the Rear bank, closest to firewall. That engine still ran, actually drove it to my buddies shop to pull the engine.
New engine is from LKQ. I forget what year engine, though it did have EV1 connectors on the injectors. Pulled all the covers off to inspect. -Everything looked great on the new engine, and I had the Cams welded prior to install.
Installed the new engine and I am getting backfires out each intake port!? I pulled the intake back off to where just the small horns are on.
At first I thought, did I put the reluctor wheel on backwards? So, I pulled the Crank sensor out to check- Nope, its correct.
The wiring harness is from the original engine, Crank sensor is from the original engine. Compression is pretty even at 170-180 across all cyl.
I can not figure out WHY this engine is backfiring and will not start!?!?
Any suggestions or ideas?
