Well I've recently discovered that Eibach's springs for a 1990 Taurus for example gives a 1" drop in the front and a .5" drop in the rear. Is that correct? And the Wagon Springs will give a 1.2" in the front and a 1 " drop in the rear? Now I wanna lower my car because it sits up pretty darn high now but .5" in the front sounds weak. Honestly I kinda wanted at least a 1" drop in the front and maybe the same in the back. Is that possible? Can I fit wagon springs on a regular Sable? Will the spring rate be different or will handling be affected? Help me out please. I'm gonna try and call Eibach and see what they say. Thanks for looking.

I would recommend going with the intrax springs if you are looking for drop. Eibachs will usually raise the car, as the stock springs sag over time.

Eibach springs will typically lower the front very slightly and raise the back due to sag/breakage of the stock springs as previously posted.

The wagon rear springs will definitely not fit a Taurus/Sable sedan. The wagon doesn't use MacPherson struts in the rear - it has separate springs and shocks.

I don't know why the front drop would be any different on a wagon vs. sedan unless the stock wagon springs are taller to start with (both the sedan and wagon use the same front suspension).

If all you care about is appearance, you can easily shorten the stock springs with a cut off wheel. Mind you, this is bad for spring durability, suspension geometry, ride, handling, safety, etc. but it's been done many times before.

No Actually I'm looking for pure performance but at a reasonable price. Looks too I guess wink .
My rear end does not seem to sag. My Rear looks higher in the back than it does in the front. So could I ask them to send me the front springs and give my rear and front a 1" drop?

ive got tokicos/eibachs on my car, its still too high for me, i can fit 3 fingers between the wheel and fender in the front (so 2in gap or so) and the back did rise up as my original struts and springs were shot to **** (the struts would compress into themselves if i stood them up) and i took the springs off of the strut and coulda held them on there with one arm, it was sad.

but the ride quality is just right for me, everything is still smooth but its noticeably stiffer than stock. ive ridden in an SHO w/ intrax and didnt like it too much but thats my opinion, it looked nice but the ride wasnt too great.

Get the intrax springs. best drop and bang for the buck. 1.5 all around drop, evens out the entire car. at www.summitracing.com they are only $209.95 cheap shipping. just look up SHO in keywords and you are set. my car has Intrax springs and KYB struts. great everyday setup for occasional, hard cornering, freeway swerving driving. :D

Hey Adidas or anyone else with Intrax springs. Do you ever bottom out? Or is the ride all the awful? A 1.5" drop all around sounds nice! Me thinks I'm gonna be gettin some Intrax.

half-way there, I think.
The intrax springs give a very stiff ride. If your roads suck like they do here in Colorado - I would go with Eibachs.

Time to go against the grain…
Buy the Eibachs. They gave my 91+ a good, not overly agressive rake. True, they basically did nothing for the rear height, but the tire in the rear is tucked under the fender anyway. If you want good performance and don't want to scrape or be mistaken for a drug dealer, buy the Eibachs. They are comfortable and stiff enough to work well with my Konis on full firm, SFCs, polyurethance bushings, rear control arm brace, police subframe bushings, and strut tower braces. But if you like the lowrider look and don't mind replacing the oil pan after the first time you pull out of the driveway…

I dont bottom out and I have 2.5" drop upfront and 1.75" in the rear, so unless you buy very soft shocks or have a larger wheel diameter than stock I wouldnt worry about bottoming out.

I have the Eibach Tokico combo on my car. It lowered it some. I wasn't after the slammed look. I wanted to get rid of the body roll. You need to have some suspension movement. otherwise your going to eat it hard when you hit a bump at 90MPH.

Hmmmmmm....(Scratches head)......This is a predicament. I don't really want a bad ride. I was thinking about asking Eibach if they could send me the front lowering springs from a wagon for MY front end and the front lowering springs from the regular Taurus for MY rear end. Does that make sense? So that would figure into a 1.2" drop front and 1.0" drop rear. Can that be done?

BTW my car looks maybe just a bit higher than the pic you supplied. But thanks for the pic. I need to talk to Eibach.

Here a pic of the Eibach/Tokico I put on las week.
Hey man, what's the deal there? The rear looks like it's STILL sagging quite a bit! I have the Eibach/Tokico setup on my MTX and while the rear gap is slightly less than the front (about 2 fingers), it isn't nearly as low as your rear. Do you just have a lot of stuff in the trunk when you took that pic?? (When I came home from college with the car jam packed full of crap, that's about how mine looked...that's why I ask.) Just wondering.

P.S. - Sweet hood. Did you get that from Steve in Cleveland (94SHOOff/BadAssV6s)?

I'm guessing the car is on a slight incline from the way the picture looks, which would load the back more. I have Eibachs/Konis and it looks like a nice subtle drop all around.

Yes, the hood is from Steve. That picture was before I did springs and struts. All it did was raise the back about a half of an inch. I just did the fronts last week and the rears about 3 weeks ago. I have not been able to take more pictures yet.
