Anyone know if there is any issue mating the front pipe and resonator from the Dynomax cat back kit, available separately as PN 45606, with the stock SHO system from the resonator back? Looks like both are 2-1/4". Why would I do that? I have a NOS Ford resonator back system that I would like to put to use.

I have mulled over just putting in the whole Dynomax kit, but the ones I have seen on SHOs don't seem to fit as well as stock; the mufflers are uneven, and it just does not look quite right.

The Dynomax resonator pipe is no longer available separate if that makes a difference.

Rock Auto lists it, Walker part number 45606. At 70 bucks though, I'd be tempted to get one made from stainless.

We talked to the manufacturer and was to no longer be offered. If they have it in stock then that would be it.

I pretty much understood that, whatever's left is whatever that particular vendor has in stock.

First rod bearings, and now this... :omgsho:

Bob, if you do end up not using the NOS system, let me know how much. I have a friend that might be interested.

I don't know how much you want to spend, but I installed a SHO Source stainless 2.5 inch cat back system and it fit very well. I did use aftermarket Magnaflow mufflers; SHO Source has a few muffler options. (I already had aftermarket Dynomax mufflers before this install.)

Turbo79, I've been chewing over whether it makes sense for me to go that way. Wonder if the pipes would ship across the country to me without getting bent all to ****? I like the stock sound and wonder if the SHOSOURCE system will be too loud or raspy; no doubt it depends somewhat on muffler choice. I listened to their recordings and appreciate that effort, but it's really hard to tell much. Did you go single or dual? I hate to give up dual exhaust, but the engineer in me opines that the SHO motor should do as well as it's going to do with a single 2.5", and it should save considerable weight.

So far shipping has not been a problem. The system does sound good but it does depend on the mufflers. The Magnaflow mufflers produce a good mellow sound.

Also it will last the life of the car being a full stainless system.
