Ok, I read through the different posts, and I still have a question.. :)

I have a 92, and a 93 ATX... 93 will be my new ATX. The write ups are done using a 94/95 vehicle. And from what I read.. the 92, and 93, are their own harness. Is this just the A/C system being different? Did the 93's get the different A/C switches? Or did that happen in 94?

I'd love to be able to keep the harness in the dash of the 93.. would make things a lot easier if I didn't have to remove a dash twice, and replace it once.

LoL... oops.. sorry... it was early... nah, its going to be an MTX... I'll have one rusty shell, and a brand new ATX left over when I'm done... will have a for sale ad once I hack it apart.. :)

I realize the shifter stuff that needs to be addressed. I just really don't wanna pull the dash again... I want the computer and every thing to be carried over from the 92... because if I don't I lose my tune...

I just want to be sure I'm not missing something....

Then you'll have to do it like me , hack the C100-C101 connector and reconnect the 50+ wires. You will need the EVTM manuals of both cars for the diagrams to re-match everything. This is NOT plug-and-play.

Or at least get a copy of the 93 EVTM somewhere.... I got a 92, 95, and 99 manual.. lol :(

No luck I only have the 92 and 94 (for my swap).

Most of the colors are matching though , but some are not.

Maybe try ebay for the missing EVTM , dont search with the SHO string , go with something like taurus EVTM or something.

Jeebus, you've got a complete '92, right?

Just use the harness and PCM from the '92 in the '93 and your re-wiring effort will be far, far, less than that rats nest pictured above.

There is also no reason to remove the dash.

:) Yea man, I have access to both cars for parts.. and technically they all work... But I thought the harness connector at the firewall was different... like a few of the pins were landed differently. I guess now that thinking about it... pulling the computer is the other side of the harness.

You do realize what that means then if it is that easy? That means that the heater core on that car is ready to burst... :D SHO's and I have a "funny" history... just you watch... :)

I have someone who wants my black interior who is willing to pull it from the 92.. so I won't have to worry about fiddling with that.. kinda lightens my workload a bit.

So anyway... if I don't change the harness... I just fiddle with the shifter park / neutral thing.... swap my pedal assy in, cut a hole in the floor, and I'm good.. minus some exhaust fabing.

Another thing I wonder.. is about torching things.... who here lives in AZ, TX CA... whatever.... do factory rear control arm bolts come off without a torch? :) Reason I ask, is because I had a real fun time with the rears on mine, or others from this rusty shit around here. If I knew ahead of time if I can save those, to keep the 92 a rolling chassis that would help too.. as I don't have room to jack up and work on 2 vehicles at the same time..

Everything on the 92 will come off easy... only been put together a year, and I anti-seized everything.. so I'm not worried there at all.. I dunno.. I guess I just want to make sure my ducks are all in a row. Won't know completely what I'll have to get into before she gets here... It'll be here by next Tuesday... I can't wait.. :)

Man I swear its always that way... I piped my entire brake system.. new rotors, new pads, everything except for 2 rear brake hoses... guess what I went to the store and bought after I tried to bleed the brakes?

:) I'm just sayin.. lol

I'm about to hop a plane to FL for a couple of weeks, but I should be back online tonight or tomorrow.

In the meantime, if you search through my recent posts for ATX to MTX swap, I quickly go over how "easy" it was using the MTX harness and PCM (and the harness connectors at the PCM are the same for every V6 SHO; mating the right harness to the right PCM is the key.

You only need to re-wire a handful of circuits compared to the mess of trying to use an ATX harness and PCM.

The search engine filters out words that are 3 or less letters...which kinda sux when you want to search for ATX to MTX...

I suggest you double check the C100 connector , it doesnt mate , they look alike but they dont mate. At least on mine , 94 atx car with 92mtx donor.

MrA that's what I got , MTX ecu with MTX harness mated to ATX dash/firewall harness. I had to re-wire , it doesnt mate.

I put a 94 dash into a 93, and had to also swap the wiper motor, as they changed the wiring to the wiper motor between 93 and 94. The other connectors all fit up fine. Both were atx cars.

When I put the 93 mtx engine/trans into the 95 atx car, I found (like Phoenix) that the C100 connector looks the same, but is keyed and populated differently between the mtx harness and atx harness. That is why I chose to keep the atx pcm and wiring on my mtx 95. However, you can also rewire it like Phoenix has done.

I've been told that the C100 connector on a 92 is completely different from the later cars, but I don't know that for a fact.

imho, the easiest way is to take all the mtx stuff - engine harness, front body harness, dash w/ harness and put that in the 'good' car.

Its the dash with harness which I'm trying to avoid.. :) I guess just the harness inside... I just remember that dash job taking a full day.

Ok... well I thought of another one.... I can't really use the 92's stuff, because I won't have the hook ups for the passenger airbag. :)

Passenger airbag was an option in 92, so yes, the 92 harness should have a pigtail for the passenger airbag.

Why do you need a pssenger airbag?
